September 2026: paid plans switch on, and every agent is held to one standard
In September, Zunou put in the code to start charging for itself, gave agents access to more of the tools people already use, and settled how its agents are run. Everything below is merged code. It's in place, but not every piece may be in every user's hands yet. The last long weekend of the month (personal agents, Stewards, Gates and "/me") has its own special edition. This is the rest of the month.
Paid plans and billing switched on. In the first week, the code went in to turn billing on in production for new workspaces. Around it came a Plans & Packages page, an office that is set up automatically when a workspace activates its workforce, and a small trial office plan. There's also a personal plan that follows the person rather than the workspace, and a clear "which plan am I on" line in the account menu and on Home. Licences can be bought and managed from a billing hub in the dashboard, and the Nova mobile app got personal billing and plan limits. The code is in place to meter live voice time, with a cutoff enforced on the server. Later in the month, workspace credits and three-agent trials were added.
Agents can reach more of the tools people already use. Zunou designated eight standard connectors to outside tools, each with prefilled setup options. Microsoft Teams joined them during the month, a Microsoft 365 connector was added, and one connector can now hold more than one account. Agents that already had access to someone's mail can now work with Outlook mail too. A person can also give an agent scoped access to their calendar, the same way they already could with email. The agent can then list events and create new ones. Agents can keep contacts of their own, an executive-assistant agent keeps its principal's address book, and contacts now appear under People in the dashboard.
Meetings: more ways to get a notetaker in, and out. Recurring meetings can now be created. If a meeting refuses the notetaker bot as a guest, the bot can fall back to joining with a signed-in account. When the bot's join allowance runs out, Zunou tells the user to record on their device instead. Each notetaker gets a public link with a Stop control that works without signing in, and every notetaker on a call is shown with its own End control. Walk-in meetings recorded from the dashboard can be split by speaker while they record. The attendee list on a meeting summary can be edited after the fact.
A working rhythm for agents, then one standard for all of them. Early in the month, the agent's desk (the private list of next steps added at the end of August) became a working loop: lines no longer expire, quick check-ins add to it, work runs work through it, and a line added by a person wakes the agent. Overtime licences give a bounded, visible way to let an agent work outside its hours. Managers now approve the shared-skill proposals of agents who report to them. Agents gained opt-in OpenAI engines, a single provider-and-model editor, and newer Claude model versions that can be pinned. Sonnet 5.5 arrived on 29 September, and "Latest" Fable moved to Fable 5.1. From 23 September, the platform introduced a single standard that every agent is measured against. It came with a workspace charter written by the workspace owner, and a "refit" process that brings an agent up to the standard.
The last two days: hiring an agent by talking to it, and seats. On 30 September, the code went in to hire an agent through a conversation in the dashboard. You describe what you need, and the hire is set up from what you agreed. Each agent can now carry a stored look: a character drawn the same way in every app, used whenever it has no picture. "Seat" became the one word for a place for an AI agent. Every hire takes a seat, and removing an agent frees it. An agent that isn't plugged in to run is now shown as Unplugged, and its 1:1 offers the fix. Owners could already stop, start and restart their personal agents and read their logs from their own computer; on top of that, a full-screen terminal app there now lets them monitor and manage those agents, chat and decide as the owner, and stream calls. Codex and ChatGPT can also connect to "/me".
Also landed: the dashboard layout was reworked to focus on one workspace at a time, with an optional Custom mode. Nudges now surface mentions, direct messages and meeting reminders from your other workspaces. A 1:1 conversation can now be archived by one person or ended by both, but no longer deleted. The desktop app can sign in through your browser.
What it adds up to (our read): September turned Zunou into something a workspace can pay for and staff with agents that follow written rules. That was the groundwork for the personal agents of the last week, and for hiring an agent just by talking to it.
